Iceland Volcanoes Wreaking Havoc - Grimsvötn Erupts After Eyjafjöll
Grimsvötn spewed an ash cloud about 20 kilometres high into the sky yesterday. It turned the sky black and sprinkled ash over the Iceland’s capital Reykjavik some 400 kilometres away from the site. Grimsvötn eruption may reach northern Scotland by tomorrow before landing in Britain, France and Spain midweek. Last April another Icelandic volcano, Eyjafjöll erupted with a massive ash cloud which was blown all the way to the southeast mainland Europe. Photo: Halldora Kristin Unnarsdottir/ap
